The family portraits of the
Boratynskys,
kept in the Tambov museums
In the funds of the Tambov museums there are fifteen canvases by
the artists of the 18-19th centuries, which are in any case connected
with the Boratynskys' family. The portraits of the poet's grandfather,
father, uncles, brothers and other relatives are among them. The most
part of these portraits is kept in the Tambov Museum of Regional
Ethnography.
It is considered that the family portrait gallery belonged to
Mikhail A. Boratynsky - one of the last pre-revolutionary
representatives of the Boratynskys, lived in the Tambov region.
