V.G.Shpilchin's Private Collection
The private collection of V.G.Shpilchin - an artist, a student of
local lore, a collector, living in Tambov, is the unique one. More than
30 years he is indulged in search of the materials, connected with
the Boratynskys and takes part in the artistic reconstruction of their country
estate and family life. As the decorator and the copyist painter, V.G.Shpilchin
created the expositions of many museums in our region and now intends to create
the poet's memorial museum in his motherland in the Tambov region.
According to the works of art, the photographs and memoirs V.Shpilchin
succeeded in the reproduction of such pictures-reconstructions of the
Boratynskys' country house Mara and its interiors as: "A Road",
"The Ascension Chirch", "View of the Country House on the Side of the
Markov's House", "The Country House in Winter", "Grotto",
the series "Mara's Interiors". In his works he used items of his
collection - the beautiful pieces of culture.
V.G.Shpilchin's collection includes about 1000 items:
- The document copies of the Boratynskys' archives.
- The photograph collection.
- The pictorial reconstruction of the Boratynskys'
country house in Mara, realized by
V.G.Shpilchin.
- The pictorial reconstruction of the interiors
of the Boratynskys' country house in Mara, realized by V.G.Shpilchin.
- The memoirs of the last pre-revolutionary inhabitants of the Boratynskys'
country house.
- The copies of works of art from the Boratynskys' country house in Mara.
- The books from the Boratynskys' library.
After the death of V.G. Shpilchin in 2006, his collection was placed in the G.V. Chicherin’s house museum.
