Master's program Theory and Design of Buildings and Structures focuses on developing graduates' skills of design, calculation and construction of civil and industrial buildings, the choice of optimal building materials, products and structures. Having completed the program, graduates are prepared to solve problems in such professionally-oriented areas as innovative activity, survey work and preliminary estimation.
The program duration is two years.
Graduates' professional work facilities are industrial and civil buildings; hydraulic engineering works and environmental constructions; building materials, products and structures.
Graduates are able to carry out surveys to assess natural and technogenic objects, to determine initial data for designing, justifying calculations, monitoring of objects; to do patent research, to prepare design tasks. They know methods for designing and monitoring of buildings and constructions, their structural components applying methods of justifying calculations and using universal and special software systems and automated design systems. Graduates can develop conceptual, technical and working projects of facilities which are subjected to heavy loads and stress and can be used in extreme climatic conditions. They know modern methods for diagnostics and monitoring of building constructions including experimental methods for determining the stress-strain state of structures; they can assess durability and safety of building structures, bases and foundations.
